What Scott Covers
Scott opens with a definition worth sitting with: accountability is a person who takes and reports on their responsibilities transparently, for results and outcomes. He builds the session on three principles. Inspect what you expect, which means comparing what the team said it would do against what it actually did and what came of it. Stay future focused, so the next two weeks get built rather than the last two relitigated. And understand your own contribution to the Connected Patient Experience, because every handoff either sets up the next person or leaves them a gap. He then walks the team through a full 360 review by position, from the phone through the clinical and business handoff, and closes on the four things every person answers for: patients, projects, numbers, and priorities.
Scott, Unedited
Accountability begins with you.
We are not basing future actions on past results. We’re going to base future actions on future results, on the things that we’re striving for.
Are we impeccable with our word? What we say, do we actually do?
Your actions must follow your commitments.

Scott defines inspecting what you expect as three things: what we said we would do, what we actually did, and what came of it. Where in our week does that comparison genuinely happen, and where does it quietly get skipped?
Walk our Connected Patient Experience out loud, from the first phone call through the business handoff. Name the one point where a patient is most likely to fall into a gap between two of us.
Scott asks whether we exit patients to the business team properly 100% of the time. Be specific: which visit types do we handle well, and which ones do we simply walk out?
Of the four compartments Scott names, patients, projects, numbers and priorities, which one gets the least attention in this practice right now, and what has that cost us?
Scott describes a daily success system: whiteboard each patient in the morning huddle, then check at the end of the day what actually happened. What would it take to run that tomorrow, even if only for new patients?
